so i pulled the rim off one of my rum cases and its now stuck in my hornady resizing die, anyone got any ideas how to get the sucker out? the primer pin is still in the primer hole btw.

thanks

Unscrew the primer pin and secure it out of the way. Get yourself a stuck case removal set. Follow the instructions! Don't break the tap in the case or your screwed.
Make sure your die is clean afterward and use a good case lube. I use ch4d sizing wax nd haven't had a stuck case nice I switched to it from case lube. YMMV

you can screw the expander ball/mandrel loose, and pull it up out of the way (as someone else mentioned).

Then take a drill and drill about a 5/16" hole, all the way through the primer pocket, into the stuck case. (don't let the drill hit the decapper pin, hold all that out of the way)...

then take a socket, from your socket set... about a 9/16", 3/8" drive. Socket has to be big enough for case head to fit into.

Then get a bolt, with threads slightly larger than the hole you drilled in the case head.

Put the bolt through the socket from the square drive end, then thread the bolt (you'll have to force it a bit) into the hole in the case head. The socket will press against the bottom of the die, and as you tighten the bolt, it'll pull the case out.

Put the die in a good vise, padded, of course for this...

Parts I used. 1/4"x20 bolt long enough to screw into case through pipe nipple, flat washers, 1/4" tap, #7 drill bit(.2010"), and a 2 1/2" long pipe nipple just big enough to fit over case head.
Back out primer punch. Drill and tap hole. Place pipe nipple over case head and screw bolt with flat washers in. Place die in vise and tighten bolt until case pops out.
