Shipping to the US question

Hey guys,

I want to sell a rifle through this board, and I do not want to exclude anyone if I can avoid it. What is involved in shipping a sold rifle into the US? I live in Canada. Are there permits involved? If so, which ones and how do I get them? Can I just pack er up real good and send it off hoping that the border doesn't contact me asking why I am sending a rifle in the mail? Any tips or information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There will probably need to be some sort of importer's permit, and it will have to be shipped to the holder of a Federal Firearms License.
Check the http://www.atf.gov/ website, and possibly US Customs too.

You can also call Denise Tiffany at 406 228-4867 - She is an importer/exporter and does a fantastic job. Denise makes it easy, she will walk you through the process. Just takes a bit of time and patience.
