savage 110 build?

By guys still looking at building a 338-378. I wanted to use a weatherby action or rem. 700, but I have a brand new savage 110 7mm mag in the safe. Would this be an acceptable action to build off to save money on the donor action or would I stay away thanks for any input.
 
No. The Savage action is not generally considered stout enough for the big Weatherby and Lapua sized cases.

Some have done it sucessfully, but I wouldn't recommend it.

If I had to, it could be done on your action with the Lapua bolt head available from Midway and with the barrel conventionally shouldered. No barrel nut.

I don't think you could make it a repeater, it's hard enough to do with the RUM's.
