Remage/Savage build

Both of those look sweet. How do you like the shorter barrel 257 weatherby
I like it; it gives me flexibility with muzzle brake and suppressed and still propels the heavies with authority. It was built primarily for the 131 BJ, 134 Hornady ELD-M, and 133/135 Bergers but changed course to the 145 Black Hole and 163 Chinchaga (and soon the 180).

A couple lefties I screwed together a few years ago, 22-250 and 260 Remington. Savage short actions, both in factory Savage stocks, both have Shilen Select Match SS barrels and Leupold scopes. They each weigh 9lb 4oz. and both are shooters.

I have 4 savage actions, 2 short, 2 long. Right now they are 22cm, 260rem, 6.5-06 and 280ai. I have a .223 bolt face and 223 and 7.62x40 barrels that I sometimes use with the short actions. Lot's of fun to build and very quick to change out barrels. I have 3 of them in Pure Precision Altitude stocks and one Stocky's VG2.

How do you like the vg2
I haven't spent as much time with it as the altitudes since I just recently finished that build. I've only shot it a couple times and it has worked fine using bipod and rear bag from a bench. I haven't shot it in any other position yet. The finish from stocky's was pretty plain, I added the FDE cerakote to the finish so it matched my rifle's cerakote. It also doesn't have any texture on the grip or forend which hasn't been an issue so far but I have a feeling if/when it's wet or wet hands it will be super slick. I had to inlet the bottom metal a little bit, I read on another post about them it's inletted for the plastic bottom metal and I have metal. I also had to add a shim to the rear action screw to keep the bolt release from binding. Overall though for the availability (no wait) and price I think it's a good deal.
