Well, I'm not trying to revive an old thread or anything, but while I was googling a 300 min mag priming question I stumbled on this thread, which, is unrelated to my issue. I, however, was thinking that I had intermittent issues with this on my hornady .300 WM brass and rcbs hand priming tool. The solution was a different shell holder. The shell holder I had in my priming tool was 1 of 2 I used. 1 hornady and one that came with my second hand die set. The hornady shell holder had enough slop that the ram wouldn't push the primer all the way below the case head. The solution was chucking the hornady shell holder. I bought an RCBS shell holder and it seems to seat better. I am still looking for a better shell holder as all of the shell holders I have for the 300 WM and 300 PRC have too much slop for my liking.
