new stock or aftermarket product?

What are the pros and cons of buying a new stock with an adjustable cheek rest and length of pull versus just buying parts to modify my stock.

I have a Remington 700.

If I don't damage my stock I could resell it... I'm just torn.

$400 for a new stock versus ??? for all of the pieces to adjust mine.

You can get a Bell and Carlson for 250 and choate ultimate sniper with some adjustment for 180 or less. Those are my options when considering this type of decision. You could do some stuff to a stock stock, but your going to get into some work to make it work out.
