Need help with choosing a scope power

I'm torn between a 3.5x15 and 5.5x22 nightforce nxs what would be the pros and cons of either I'm shooting a .284 win max range would be 800 to 1000 yards and as close as 150 yards this is a hunting rifle mainly I shoot it off the bench as well I mainly shoot 500 yards I'm wanting to stretch it out further and don't want to be limited by my optics leaning towards the 3.5-15

scope variables are very subjective to the shooter's eyesight. I'm equipped with less than stellar vision so I like a lot of magnification and it serves me well. The problem with the larger NXS is the weight. But, with the distances you are talking, it wouldn't matter to me. I'm going big.
