Local gun shop had one for $599 in good shape(little rust on barrel). Liked it but would like to know what you guys thought. Thanksgun)

At that price it's hard to go too wrong. Float it, bed it, shoot it. If you aren't happy with it trade it off.

I looked hard at one in .300 rum but it sold before I could scrape up the cash.

That triangular barrel is a very novel concept.

Thanks. Any idea what to do with the pitting on the barrel?

Just keep it oiled. Then if you decide you really do like the rifle and want to keep it I'd get it Cerakoted so you never have to worry about it again.
