This site deems 1000 yards ELR

Huh, 1000 yards is not Extreme Long Range...that would be 2000 yds and beyond....military snipers and others have been shooting over a mile for a very long time. I believe the record is 3871 yds for ELR sniper kill...for those who are dedicated to precise and tedious practice and shooting schedules and take their LR shooting skills, very seriously...expensive and time consuming.
Just to put the better than average shooter in perspective, shooting a deer at 300 to 500 or even 800 to 1000yds is not in the same category, plus return fire is a problem. You may think you're pretty good, but there are always a few, a whole lot better. Just the facts...
