Is anyone using h-1000 in the 300wsm? I'm workin' up a load with 168 smk's, and can't find any data for this powder.

That's probably because it isn't a good choice for that bullet weight. Hodgdon shows compressed H4831 with a 168 gr bullet and compressed H1000 with a 220 gr bullet. That makes me think you will be wasting your time with H1000 and a 168 gr bullet.

thats a real fast bullet to be ising such a slow buring powder.. try 4831sc or rl19.. I hve had real good success with the h4831sc.. .4 inch 4 shot group at 200

Ahh, I see. I was wondering because I use it almost exclusively in my 7wsm with the same weight bullets. I have about 5 other powders I can use, but I was really hoping to use good ole' h-1000! Thanks for the replies guys.

H4350, RL17 and MRP are the go to powders in the 300WSM

all with standard primers
