Getting into PRS. How do I get started?

Tuscan,
I have only recently completed this build and have tested it. Planning on giving it a try for hunting next season. By lightweight, I meant relative to my conventionally stocked rifles. I like a 10-12# weight for my LR hunting rifles. My light weight MPA Chassis is 3# as opposed to a MPA competition chassis which runs 5+#. So far I really like the way this hunting rifle feels and shoots!

For everyone you buy you will need to screw with the feed lips it must work flawlessly or you will drop points due to that. Pratice your positional shooting. At Pemi they shoot quite a bit of positional over 400yds. I haven't shot the other places. Mils allow you to get corrections from the better shooters as that is what they all use. Here is a good thread about wind math. You will see that for the game mils is mentally quicker once you have a basic understanding

Maybe I should look into selling or trading my gen 2 pst for a ffp and mils? I'll probably get one of those 10 round mags that were shared earlier in the thread. They look like they will work well.

You will see the first stage you have 2 different yardages and you need more FOV that FFP or fixed power in a 10x is a better option. Just from the aspect of the other shooters being able to tell you. your .2 mils low high left or right or whatever or try an X mil lead on this mover etc. It takes no time to learn mils for wind and less time than moa for movers because everyone good already speaks that language to help you!
If you like your stock great. Once you shoot one event you will see that some chasis like the Bravo or this new one from MDT under 400 dollars might be a better way due to the aics mag capability. I had some issues with feeding and ejection so I sold and went to a remington. I wish I had just bought a chassis instead.
