Pellets are looking better and better for close-in use.

I got some 300gn Shock Hammers that I'm going to try scoring with a small cold chisel to see if they'll hold in a sabot better.

I really feel for serious ML shooters that use BH209. I typically only shoot the ML for verifying POI at 100 yards around a month before the season. Verify MV and attempt to calculate POI at 200 yards. One or two shots at 200 and I'm ready to hunt. Now with a new smoke pole I'm plotting how many bullets and shots I can get out of my 18 ounces of BH. I spent $300 on groceries the other day. I try not to calculate what every meal costs or shots, as it depresses me.
