Best powder for .338RUM and Heavy bullets?

I just got a .338 ultra. I've been fiddling around with H -4350 with Nosler 200gr BT and Retumbo with 225gr. NAB. Both seem to be real accurate, but from what I've been reading almost everyone in the long range stuff has been shooting 250gr to 300gr sierras. With Powder as hard to get as it is I'd really like to avoid picking up 1lb cans of like 10 different kinds of powder. Maybe some body could recommend 2-3 different powders that always seems to work good with the heavy bullets. I'm look for more accuracy than speed. I'm using Rem. cases and Fed. 215m primers.
Rem. 700. H.S stock. Krigger heavy stainless. 27" long

Retumbo, H1000, US869, and RL25, maybe H50BMG. I would go with Retumbo and H1000.

I started using 7828 in my custom 338 RUM w/300 smk's, it actually gave very impressive velocity & sub-moa accuracy w/o playing with seating depth (loaded to mag. max). I am now playing around with Retumbo to get a little more temp stability, we'll see, if it doesn't work out I will be going to h-1000.

Mine is a standard rem 700 with 26" barrel. I settled on the 225 Accubond at 3260 fps. I use 99 grains of RE-25 with fed 215 match primers. I seat bullets to magazine length. It shoots one big hole at 100 yards and will easily kill an elk at 1000 yards.

Slower powders are better with the 225gr and up. Concur on RL 25, 7828, and H-1000. I primarily load with Nosler 250gr Partitions in that cartridge. Accubonds also work well as do Hornady Interlocks. For punching paper, I shoot the Sierra 250gr MatchKing.

VV N560 is crazy accurate with the 250 have not tried the 300 yet,

thanks for the direction guys. Since I've got a bunch of Retumbo, I'm gona pick up some RL 25 and some H-1000. Have any of you guys tried the new Nosler Accurbond .338 250gr? I'm looking for a long range deer and elk round (ie 7-8 hundred yards) but I'm a little hesitant to try the Matchkings and bergers on game. Maybe They'll work fine for long range, but how about 75yrds in the timber?

I found that Retumbo works best with the 300 grain match king at 94grains 2765fps.
RL25 with 225 at 98 grains 3240fps.
RL 22 with 210 ttsx's at 97.5 grains 3390fps.

Dont use the Matchking on game at closer than 500yards. bad idea.

The 225 or 250 AB will do well from point blank to your 700-800 yards. So will the Barnes ttsx's from 185-225 grains.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll try and work up a load with the 250 NAB. Thanks for the advice on matchkings. I think I'm just a likely to get a shot an an Elk at 150yrds as I am at 500yrds. I'm a little worried about the MK having problems at close range high velocity.
