Beginner scope mounting

i mount mine so that the gun fit my shoulder well. straight up /down doesn't seem to fit well so the gun is a little canted. i do use a level that is setup to match the scope so that is level/square to the world, just the gun is canted a little. this has seemed to work well for me and didn't seem to affect anything but i'm also not shooting out a super long ways

The threads of screw and hole need to be oil/grease free. Oil will prevent the loc-tite from performing its job of locking the screws. If the mount fits good a drop of loc-tite between the receiver and the base will keep moisture from seeping in, No moisture, No Rust. I have removed scope bases with many years of service installed with loc-tite and found no rust. Good Luck
