barr and stroud rangefinders

deutsche opiic is a reputable outfit, and also have technicians capable of repairs.
wild is about identicle to a barr&stroud and is also an excellant rangefinder.
i believe they made units up till the late 80s or so, and that could be a plus.
whereas barr&stroud stopped production shortly after ww2.

ive owned a barr&stroud 250 for about 35 years. it is still in very good condition.
many of these units are failing however, due to age and a breakdown of the glued areas on the internal lens system.
repairs are a problem due to very few remaining qualified technicians.
there are only 2 types who attemp to dissasemble these things. those qualified, and fools.
i have tried every one of the popular laser units. for reliability under all conditions, none can compare to these units. the only exception ive seen are the military lazer units.
i would be looking for the newest best condition unit i could find. or trade up as the oppurtunity presents itself.
