Bank of America Tells McMillan Group to Find Another Banker

I'm closing accounts at both tomorrow.

If they want to get political than I'll not do business with them. When will they stop accepting credit cards use at bars, liquor stores and fast food restaurants, casino's, etc., etc., the list will go on eventually. Pretty soon we will be eating and drinking only what they approve of.

I decided not to bank with them when they started offering credit cards to Illegal aliens...this is just one more reason I'll keep away from them and bank local

Since when Banks check on people's legal status? If an illegal alien presents all the info a bank requires, which they will, that's all it takes. You would have to close your bank accounts with just about all the banks in the United States.

"Banks aren't legally required to verify legal status. There is no federal law which requires banks to verify the immigration status of foreign account holders."

Please correct me if this is wrong.

I will be closing my BofA account as soon as my divorce is over (there needs to be accounting consistencies so this is why Im taking this route).

The funny thing is so little people here understand why some need a national bank. If you had to travel consistently 4-10 times a year and the local bank/credit union had no chance of helping you 2000 miles away then that is why a national bank is needed.

I'm not knocking anyone that stays local for 95% of their time just that everyone needs not be so narrow minded about why others choose the avenues they do.

I am also in business and if anyone wants to twist the numbers they can use fancy language and ratios that don't make sense to the majority of you. My dad is an electrician, if he tells me about something and uses specific jargon I have no clue but if he explains himself then I have a GENERAL idea. It is the same with business language.

If you read the article Heather McMillan clearly states that the majority of us would do the same no matter what reputable company took this stance.

I love the knowledge of this site but some of these comments are just ridiculous.

Lets be know for sound knowledge and not slander like "The High Road" site is known for.

To punish BofA we need to jointly take a stand and send pointed emails to these executives about why we are separating our ties to them. when the bottom line and stock price falls is only when they will listen.

If their pocket books aren't effected then why should these executives care? Think about it!

Bitching without sound knowledge or a course of action is just bitching, nobody will listen! Continue all you want but it will have no effect on the situation.

Eaglet, you are "correct" in your thinking about banks.

Maybe bailing these banks out wasn't such a good idea? Now they are a political tool it seems.

Current agenda, Judge, jury and then execute outdoorsman that hunt and target shoot, forget about the right "to protect ourselves." Take firearms away from responsible owners, don't let them hunt even if for conservation preservation, just judge, jury and execute us. The ends never justify the means. Just because there are criminals that steal and buy guns for misuse, doesn'y mean the careful and thoughful hunter should be thrown in the mix and executed for their misdeeds. This speaks about our politicians, manipulating the banks and taking rights away from safe thoughtful little old hunters and firearm enthusiasts like us.

Write your congressman or woman. That's all we can do, vote to keep our voice alive.

I don't understand the comment above about local versus national banks. I travel out of the country on ocassion and deal with a local S&L for my personal accounts and have never had any issue with funds. All one needs is a credit card on from their particular institution, in my case a Visa.

You need your vaccinations too.....:)

Sorry, should have clarified, it was when they were pretty blatant about it a few years back...to the point of pretty much marketing it. That's what I meant...sorry about that. With banks supposed to require Tax payer ID number, I thought it was implicit that you needed legal status to open an account, not explicit

McMillan Moved to National Bank of Arizona, Thanks All

McMillan has announced (home page) that they are now banking with National Bank of Arizona. Expressed thanks for all the support received from customers and others concerned with 2nd Ammendment rights.

And just in case there are still a few doubters out there, the corporate response to why they gave me the boot was because we were a credit risk. Our new bank actually increased both of our lines of credit by 20%. I think it's pretty clear that the reason mr. fox gave me was actually the honest reason.

Not that I would ever have a reason to doubt your word, but I have a couple of clients who are rather high up the corporate ladder at B of A.

As soon as I saw this, I emailed both of them to see what if anything they have heard through the corporate grapevine. My suspicion is that very few people outside of that room that day knew this was going on because there's a hell of a bunch of their corporate exects who are hunters and shooters.

I'm glad you found a new bank that appreciates our kind of people and our business and hope McMillan will be a name that's still around long after we are all gone from this world.

Actually as long as you hold a credit card or two and an ATM card, and your local small town bank provides online banking there is nothing you can get from the big national chain banks that they cannot provide.

Thank You McMillan's for doing the "RIGHT" thing for your business and our basic human rights. I wouldn't do business with any company that is influenced by politicians to alter my rights through manipulation. This is a lesson we all need to take seriously. Today, I vote based upon my future rights more than any other issue. Hopefully, we never lose out right to vote.

The new bank I National Bank of Arizona. We are happy and they are happy, it is a great fit. They are local, 2nd Amendment friendly, financially solid, backed by Zion Bank out of Utah, and our money stays in our community.

For those who have supported McMillan I want to say thank you, and ask a favor. Many people have mentioned supporting us financially, and though we have maintained this is not about McMillan or money, some fell compelled, and unfortunately our products are priced such that most just won't sit down and write a check. Here's the deal.

We have built a custom one of a kind rifle to be raffled off by the Phoenix Chapter of the Safari Club International. It is a 100% donation so all proceeds from the raffle go to Phx SCI. The tickets are $20 ea and 6 for $100 and the drawing will be in October. Please help us help them. It is an opportunity to own a one of a kind McMillan rifle, and you guys know what that means, and to help a great organization.

2012 MCMILLAN RIFLE RAFFLE | Phoenix Chapter

The above link has the details and you can buy the tickets directly from McMillan at 623-582-9635 and ask for Dee. Thanks to all.
