Anyone Tried Alliant's New Higher Velocity RL17 Powder Yet?

65 grains of RL17 for 3,060.

Shot two 1" groups today at 300 yards.

ES of 6.

That's good results. How long is your barrel? I get about 3020 fps with 180 gr E-tips in front of 66 gr of H4350 out of a 24" barrel.

That sounds like average velocity out of a 26" barrel, but your accuracy and ES are excelllent.

How does this compare with other powders out of this rifle?

New rifle, FN SPR action on a A3. Barrel has a .338 neck

Just started loading for it and only powder I've used so far.

I'm also a grain below the manufactures recommendation for 180's.

"300 WSM 180 gr BTSP Fed Fed 215 2.800 66.0 3082"



I've taken it two grains higher to get over 3,100, my ES was all over the place.

This seems to be the sweet spot for this rifle and I'm happy with that.
