Anti-X cross slot dimensions

Good morning,

I am wondering why the cross slot dimensions are so loose or wide on the Anti-X actions. Is it irrelevant because you push the bases forward during mounting or is there a specific go to brand that is more robust??

I am currently using some Warne but would consider others as I am mounting and getting ready for loading and shooting season.

Doesn't matter, push the ring forward and torque appropriately.

I know I have had similar concerns when you have a Picatinny rail versus a Weaver rail. Just make sure your mount is for the correct rail or slots.

Push the scope rings snug against the back side. Closest to you the shooter and tighten it down and roll with it.

Which is it, I have always pushed mine forward to account for the rifle recoil moving rearward in relation to the rings.

The rail should be a Mil-std 1913 spec, those spec'd slots are "generous".

You push them forward. Rifle wants to leave the scope causing the scope to slide forward
