I built a 34. in 3/3 Pac-Nor .30-.378 on a big Hall Single shot. The barrel is straight 1.25 at the muzzle. I have reloaded and shot lots of .300 Weatherby, but never a .30.-378. I am looking for some tips. Here is what I have so far.
Redding type S neck bushing die set.
8 lbs of H50bmg powder (the most likely powder I believe to work in this combo)
1 lb of Retumbo (will try in both the 300 and .30-.378)
1 lb H1000 (will try in both the .300 and .378)
2-3 lbs of 7828 I use in the .300
I have the .30-.378 reemed to shoot Sierra 240's. The barrel is a 1-10 twist. I am hoping for at least 3200 fps out of the 240's ???
Any other bullets I ought to try? might try some 220 Sierra's as well. Is there a ULD RBB bullet that is heavier than 240 ?
Thanks,
John
