Scope application- hunting, 300 to 800 yards--mounted on 7mm Rem mag or 6.5 / 284 deer antelope and elk. My eyes are aging so I need very good glass and good magnification. budget $800 to $1,800 what do you guys recommend / experiences. Thanks any info helps.

I think you really need to look at the IOR tactical 4.5~14x50 with the MP-8 dot reticle and the new 25 moa top turret.

But for that matter a 3.5~15 or a 5.5~22x50 Nightforce NXS is har to beat. All will fall easily into your price range.

as a beginner one thing I am realizing if you want to get past 300 yards your gonna need top of the line optics it certainly isn't all about caliber. Lots to learn for us beginners. Thanks for the info

The best shooting rifle and markman in the world , ain't got a change with a poor scope or mounting system.

I just picked up a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25X50 LRT and in my opinion it is more optic than you'll ever need. I plan on shooting out to a mile with it. I think it is also the best of the affordable optics.
