.284 winchester

I am looking for a good starting load for a 284 with a 168 berger. gun is set up for a 3.135 oal with the vld. this touches the lands. I should have the gun from the smith (Dan Coffin from victor montana) in a week or so. I took apart a .40 moa model 700 vs in 6mm for this build so wish me luck. also looking for some 284 brass. thanks in advance for any help.

There has to be someone here who shoots a 284, just asking for a simple starting load..

I shoot a .284 Win in 1000yd BR and use 55grs of H4831SC with the Berger 168 VLD, oal is 3.185".
I have a 30" barrel and velocity is 2960 fps, I've gone up to 56grs and just over 3000fps but groups weren't as good.
I would start around 54grs and work up, should find something that works around there.
