Which bullet to use when sighting in new scope.

Bought a new scope. When I sight the scope in is it ok to use a different weight/kind of bullet than the bullet I plan on working up a hunting load for?

Yes, but as stated last post your not going to have same POI most of the time. Just went thru this Thursday at the range. I had some factory 25-06 ammo I got a deal on and used it to get on paper. But when I switched to reloads I was off by 4"high and 3" right @ 100yds. Then i fine tuned it foor that load. For practice I shoot Ballistic tips in place of Accubonds in the same weight. They shoot almost the same POI and are WAY cheaper. You'll find bullets and loads that match on paper sometimes, but it's just a crap shoot. also just because two loads work at 100yds it might not at 200 or farther.
