Budget Long range coyote rifle (new target pics in post 5)

I decided I wanted a custom rifle for coyote's. I always wanted a cartridge that wasn't that common, and I also wanted to do it on a cheaper budget as it is a coyote rifle. Well I got it back today.

Savage Model 11 with detachable mag
Timney trigger at about 1.75 lbs
Shillen matte barrel varmint contour in .220 Ackley 1-9 twist
HS precision stock in winter camo
Ken Farrel 20MOA base
Burris signature zee rings
Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44
Bedded and bolt timed
Larger winter marksman knob

No local smith wanted to tackle trying to make this feed. The guy that I got the barrel through managed to get 4 rounds to feed like butter. I am super busy right now but will get better pics up once the scope is mounted

I loaded up 100 rounds to fireform the other day. I just picked a mild load of IMR 4064 behind some 50gr Barnes Varmint Grenade's that I didn't think I would ever use. I just used OAL for a 60gr bullet and slapped them together. I wasn't hoping for much with no load development. If I could get 1 1/2 " groups atleast I could use them this winter for coyotes.

I got out to the range today and it was chillly and overcast with a breeze. It took three shots to get a close zero. Then I adjusted the scope shot a 3 round group, adjusted to fine tune the zero then fired another 3 shot group. so the bottom two targets are shots 4/5/6 and 7/8/9 out of this rifle. Squares are 1 inch shot at 100yards

I was quite surprised and it makes me want to get my but in gear and get going on load development with the 75gr A-max I plan to shoot with the fireformed brass.

Wow I have to say that I am really jealous. I have a 220 swift that I'm wanting to do the same with to shot the 75gr a-max. Your set up should be awesome for the yotes.

Finally got the load developement done with the fireformed brass and 75gr A-max. I settled on 43.5gr of RL-22. I am still learning lots about precision shooting so I do believe the groups can be shrunk still as Iam the limiting factor. All thats left is to find a chrony and build and verify a drop chart.

Gusty conditions shot at 200 yards 5 shots. Used wind flags and front rest with rear bag off a bench.

Whats not to understand? Most everyone interested in precision shooting reloads, so ammo availiablity is not an issue. The rifle was built on a budget because I am not rich and at the end of the day it's a coyote rifle. I can load 40 rounds of my .220AI ammo that I would consider "match" grade for the price of 20 rounds of winchester grey box .220 ammo that might shoot ok (based on Canadian prices not sure what it's like in the US)

It will be different for you as Iam in Canada and we pay quite a bit more up here for the same equipment. Basic break down is like this

Donor Action 500
Stock 495
Trigger 135
Barrel 460
Smith charge to spin the barrel on 50
bedding 75
so without optics or mounts about 1715

Great looking groups with both bullets.
I'm looking to change over my swift down the road and was wondering what barrel length you went with? Also do you know what FPS you getting with 75gr bullets?
