What is your recoil threshold poll?

I sat down and put 23 rounds through my 458 Lott once, getting it dialed in for a hunt. No brake, it was all I wanted.

That would be absorbing a pretty fair amount of recoil! memtb

I can tolerate a good bit of recoil. That doesn't mean that I like it. I will shoot my 30-06 15" Encore handgun or my 375JDJ Contender and not have an issue, but there is a limit.
I also shoot my .300 WM and 7RM without my suppressor as I will be using both of those in Canada this year where suppressors are considered evil. My turkey gun is a Benelli Super Nova shooting 3 or 3.5" shells. That thing is a thumper too.
But, if I have my druthers, I shoot everything suppressed to reduce recoil and muzzle blast. It makes it so much more enjoyable.

I stuck my head down that rabbit hole just briefly. All the big brands manufacture in multiple countries depending on the model of tire. Only way to know where they were made is to run the DOT code stamped on the sidewall. I love my Cooper truck tires but it Sounds like they were making all truck tires in China after 2020 (mine are from 2017 so maybe not) now good year bought them so that could change. The Goodyears on my wife's car are made in Germany….Nothing can be simple. I think Michelin has the highest percentage made in the states.

I ran Cooper's for years on my trucks. They didn't wear long but weren't expensive and knew made in USA. I've been running Goodyear Wranglers last two sets. They say made in USA on them. I've had Goodrich all terrain radials years ago. They were made in USA back then. I got 88k on a set of Goodyear Wrangler radials on my F250 years ago. I could of went a little further but I was going on an out of state trip. The guy at tire place couldn't believe it. Told him I rotated every 5k. He said I should contact Goodyear to make a commercial. Maybe I should of...

Back to recoil- the 2019 F350 I drive for work had a fairly bad bump steer issue with the first 2 sets of tires. I think it came with Michelins that were replaced with Goodyears.
I then put on a set of Coopers and the bump steer is nearly nonexistant. Never knew tires would have that much of an effect!
Kind of like a good stock or brake, get the right one and it'll put a smile on your face!?

Nothing against him, he figured out and fessed up how HE blew it up and IT didn't fail.

But what he does it outside my IQ bracket. His might be higher for all I know but still.

I cut my hair off but I shoot the creed more than ever.

I don't like heavy recoiling rifles, I can shoot them when I need to, but Im no longer interested in my hunting rifle being something I only shoot a few times a year, and I very much prefer to spot my impacts.

Teddy Roosevelt had a 4 bore which is up at his former home in Sagamore Hill. However, it is a side-by-side shotgun IIRC. The bores got Bigger & bigger until someone invented chocked barrels.
