Selling stuff to purchase LRH rifle

I haven't sold the sks yet but it's giving me time to make up my mind. Looking at putting a price list together comparing my options then I'll have to choose eventually

I don't mind selling things to find another purchase. I've done that with quite a few rifles and other gear over the past few years. For me, if I'm not using something and could put the cash towards something I would likely use more, I'm all for it.

Case I'm point- just built a 6 Creed a while back. Now I have a Seekins Havak that doesn't get used much at all. Pretty sure it's going to get sent down the road in a bit.

Personally I'd skip Christensen and I own two that shoot good but their track record is kinda bad. Out of those options I'd get a tikka for $8-900 and a new stock, trigger spring, and possibly a prefit. The seekins are nice but everyone has one now haha. I've done a bit of load work on one and I wasn't super impressed but they are a nice rifle. I just have to try to remember to not compare a sub 2k rifle to a full blown custom. They're a decent rifle for the price and I'd choose one over a Christensen if I wasn't looking for ultralight. I think you'd be happy with either. Tikka bolt locks closed when the safety is on and that's important to me for a hunting gun. I really like the tikka action although the havak isn't a slouch of an action either. If you want a one and done approach go seekins. If you enjoy tinkering and having a bit more hands on approach I'd go tikka and upgrade things as you go.
Haha everyone has a Tikka now too! But I can also see why! I'm fortunate to have one of each. My Seekins PH2 in 300 Win shoots wonderfully and is probably the nicest rifle I own; but I think my T3x in 260 Rem is my favorite hunting rifle.

I started putting a price list together for a tikka build. I'm not liking what I see to be honest. That doesn't help with my decision. Seekins element @$2000 would be a no brainer. Hell if an element 7prc was even available full price I'd probably suck it up. I'd even thrown around the idea of a Christensen even with the gamble some say they are with QC. Either one would be cheaper than a tikka build.

Just a thought, A Howa 1500/Vanguard, shoot it for a while and then build something. Personally I have never built anything. All mine are factory

So I found a browning x bolt magnum bolt assembly for $447. I talked to my GS and he suggested a barrel blank vs prefit. That would cost the same as the average cost of the prefits. So for about $1200 I could have an x bolt 7 prc.

Convince me otherwise

I guess one major factor I just thought of is 7prc won't fit in 30.06 mag. Are there solutions for this?

Well I started pulling the trigger on acquiring funds for a new rifle. Still not sure what direction I want to go but I'm debating on seekins, Christensen or buying and building on a tikka. Pretty sure I've convinced myself on 7prc vs 7rm or something else that more widely available. Today I took in my stainless HK usp9 and sold it for $725 and talked to them about my SKS that I'll never shoot for $899. Haven't sold that one yet but with these and my chainsaw for $500 I'll have a solid amount to start with once I have them all sold.

Anyone else sell their soul for firearms?
What kind of Chainsaw you selling? I'm looking to buy another Stihl

If you haven't already shot an XBolt, you might want to. The actions are Okay but that trigger......yikes.....

As far as magasine issue, your GS should be able to answer your question. Can't beat one stop shopping if for whatever reason something does not work right. One chicken neck to choke.
