300 Weatherby

Wish I could get some data off the older manual
Most of the time YOU WRITE THE DATA James. The books today as previously stated numerous times are a GUIDE. A great and very safe starting point (legal liability..as discussed) be safe, be cautious, take your time. Go up in .3 grains at a time...you only need one in each increment...when you notice pressure go back one load....you've reached your guns Max....now you have max...but do you have the most accurate load? That's TBD! By you too. 30 years ago ( and purely out of my own ignorance) if someone said to me " MY GUN DOESN'T LIKE THAT" I would have bet my house on the fact that they were a total IDIOT....30 years later...I guess I was at the time. You just never heard it then. Good luck....the fun is in the chase!
P.S....and don't repeat one of many of my earlier mistakes.....if a bullet isn't working after a few different charges and just a couple of seating depth changes......don't think you can make it work and waste precious resources and time....CAUSE YOUR GUN DOESN'T LIKE IT.....EVEN IF YOU DO!

Excellent advice! I never take a load from one my rifles to the next without working up first
Primers changed significantly. Higher pressure with same load now

You know it my Brother....at least I gained SOMETHING GETTING OLD! ( But Jeeeeeeezz...what I lost along the way)
Thanks for the advice I have worked from 81 to 85 grains no pressure sign only load it didn't like was 84 but still around 1 inch 85 barely broke half inch 83.5 basically through the same whole gonna get me a chronograph soon as I can its tough these days but I like to shoot a lot and got a lot of stuff to work with so I'm just seeing how fast and accurate but safe number one I can go and will hunt with it I like sst for deer in 30 caliber

Do you have a ballistic App? Did you know u can use it just about as well as a Chrono? And save the money! Strelok Pro is only about 15.00. Strelok for Android is free. Really good App

Nosler under quotes most everything like hornady and others, afraid of lawsuits and our litigious whiney society I guess. I have a 24" 300 Wby that shoots factory 165s 3340+
Can't fully agree with you….in that they openly list a 4350 load for 300 win mag that shows the 150 at 3400 fps, at the exact same charge weight I found to yield that speed.

What I will absolutely agree with is that they, imo deliberately, neuter the heck out of
Their data for weatherby and RUM cartridges….something about needing the "evidence" to confirm their own Nosler proprietary cartridges are superior or equal methinks….

Suggestion for you , if your going to reload for the Wby your sizing die may not resize enough just above the belt. At first I tried couple sizing dies and they didn't work. I ended up getting the LarryWillis collect sizing die. This really kept my same 100 cases going. Some people have no problems with their sizing die.

Loaded some 165 sst in 300 Weatherby yesterday max load in nosler manual is 83.5 grain of imr 7828 velocity at 3221 fps same manual show a 300 win with imr7828 80.0 grains 165 bullet at 3213fps with a 24 inch barrel and a 26 on Weatherby just out of curiosity because I own both cartridges how could the be I did load the Weatherby up to 85 grain of powder still shooting under an inch no pressure sign has anyone got a 165 load recipe Loaded over 3300 fps
you certainly should do better than 3250 out of tve weby. i shoot my 26 in, benchmark barreled 300 wsm at 3260 with a barnes loading manual load for the 165 ttsx. probably a max load in my rifle, but safe . good brass life with ww brass. i recently bought a colt sauer in 300 weatherby and sure would expect better than i get with my wsm. i will be looking at info here as i begin working up a load for it. for that matter also for a 300 rum i have never shot.

Yup.....as for PUTTING IT RIGHT....to back up what I said too....I've detonated the heart too many times and had them still go 50 + yards...they just don't seem to transfer the energy ( shock value) needed for DRT....one needs to consider......Why have 30-30's been SO effective at dropping Deer in their tracks for over 130 years? It was a question I considered after shooting 50+ Whitetail and another 30+ Mule Deer with my 300 Bee and not getting the results of my .308 or even .243 or when I was 13-16 a 30-30 Marlin...Bigger faster isn't always better!
only central nervous system ie spine or brain shot will guarantee drt. i try for a through both shoulder, heart , lung shot if possible. i dont like them to go far either and spine and brain shots are often a gamble. my 2cents🤣
