Yes! I know of only one other weapon, the 30/378, even close to walking around weight that has a longer PBR with enough energy left at the longest range I will shoot to give me a reasonable chance to make that one shot quick kill. On top of that It has the biggest and ugliest multi chamber muzzle break I could have manufactured that extends the 26" BBL length by 6" more inches and adds half? a pound to the all ready heavy gun, scope and sling. If I was not entitled to use an ATV to get there and pack the meat out, I would never consider using it. Having said that, I do shoot at much longer ranges and most times with a much smaller gun chambered in .308, out to 1,200 meters or so, in so called "Sniper" matches, just for the fun of it. I compete in the no laser class of guess the range using the rifle scope and refined by my best friend and long time spotter. I have two each M-14/21s and LR-308s most with big glass. I also shoot at Prairie Puppies with everything I own from an iron sighted HS .22 pistol, out to 100 meters or a little more, to 10-22s and 144 LRS rifles, to about 200 Meters or so, to 5.56 ARs, to 3-500 meters, to my three hot rod .224s, four if you count my .224 Valkyrie AR, to 4-600 meters, all four of my "Serious" toys in 7.62X51 and yes, even that monstrosity of a stone stock Remington Sendaro in .300 RUM and lastly, an iron sighted Perdersoili(SP?) "Quigley" rifle I bought used from a club member who did not like the recoil, about 15 years ago. I take all of those guns so that I can continue to shoot before any of them get too hot. We normally do not spot for each other but call out our own hits and misses. It is more fun than you can imagine and very serious training too! I freely admit that I miss more than I hit because of the strong winds prevalent in Wyoming all year long. It is both exhilarating and humbling at the same time while helping a rancher clear out some of the dogs.
