So a friend complained that his rifle wont group. Turned out to be the Winchester Ranger rifle I asked about. After properly cleaning the barrel. Super bad, at least twenty black tar lookin patches came out before I called it clean. It also had weaver mounts, with picatinny high rings that were clamped crooked of course. Cheek weld was impossible from standing let alone prone. I mounted a cheek rest, DNZ medium ring/mount which left .100 between objective and barrel, and ACD bubble level. Then loaded up Winchester brass, Hornady 140 SST, H4831 (59.0gr) CCI BR-2 primers, and out to zero. 3/4 groups at 100yds off bipod and rear bag rest. I'd say it's "fixed". Thanks to those that shared knowledge.
