Not typically on a local scale, I am of course referring to gun shops not just sporting good stores that carry guns. One of my local guys has had a huge selection of semi-auto rifles and there typical ammo sitting stagnant on the shelf forever, Now he has none. If the guy up the street jacked his prices as the market rose, He would be the only one with significant supply still available. So...If a guy was really in need, at least he would have some source of supply. This example is about guns but the same applies to loading supplies. I have had times where I needed something and for any number of different reasons it was unavailable for a long time. So.... When I see a possible disruptions in supply be it fear stoking preppers, production or supply problems or wannabe gun grabbers harassing a specific market, I take notice and then I take note of my inventory and if there is anything I know I will need and it may be hard to get in the near future, I go get it. Not to try and deplete the supply or drive up prices or make things more difficult for anyone. I do not feel the need to have a monopoly on h1000 gun powder but if I plan on using a pound a week I need to have some stocked up. Nothing selfish about it. It was for sale, I needed and wanted it to continue my activities so I bought it. Simple and fare, buyer got what he payed for, seller sold what he needed to sell. Win/Win...... unless someone walked in behind me looking for the same thing but neither of us can count on that. He is in business to sell....sold=mission accomplished. Hopefully it worked good enough for him to get more and have it on the shelf waiting for the next guy or the next time. Again....... Nothing selfish just supply/demand/sell and repeat.
