I have a 300 and 340, both in the black synthetic stock. Both routinely shoot factory ammo into 1/2” groups. I could never get excited with the beautiful wood stocks as a hunting tool....they‘d end up scratched and scarred. An interesting aside, Ive hand loaded extensively for both rifles and could never match the velocity and accuracy of factory loads at the same time, even when using the same bullets and the factory load data Norma published long ago.... I’ve never faced that dilemma with dozens of rifles I loaded for. If others have had a similar problem, perhaps that is part of the explanation.
