I hear what you are saying, I have decided going forward to purchase a Custom action, pre-fit barrel, stock of choice along with bottom metal and trigger and build it myself. We are very fortunate here in the USA, we have so many custom manufacturers for actions, barrels, triggers stocks, etc. In reality, the ones on this forum anyways, we really have no need for manufacturers. Those of us that are mechanically inclined, but do not have a Lathe, can piece our own rifle together and build ourselves. You also have the advantage to send off your action to a Barrel manufacturer like Hart and have them thread a barrel and setup to your spec's. We are very lucky in our lifetime to have this many options for building a Rifle of our choice, my grandparents and even my parents did not have this luxury. The Bergara I purchased earlier this year is the last mass manufactured rifle I plan to purchase, my next will be built only to my standards. I do have a couple of other rifles in my safe, a Ruger and Winchester that I plan to re-barrel with Hart and swap out the stock and trigger. I have been wanting a 6.5-284 thinking of converting one of these or may just purchase an action and build it new.
