Got dark and by the time I could get over to it climbing over deadfall, It got up and ran off. 6" dark blood patch where he was laying. lost blood trail 30 yds up hill. The elk was found dead a week later down hill 1 mile away.<strong> In my opinion, all bullets demand good shot placement, however, monolythics are not forgiving like other bullets as they don't fragment. </strong> I continue to learn this the hard way.
