I’ve played with saddles and don’t like them. I feel like they are fast enough but not really my thing. Bulky, have to adapt to hold bino’s and spotters etc. The positive is they work on most any rifle. With a arca, qd clamp, and rail I feel like I get a lot of flexibility. Plus on my style of rifle I can easily leave the tripod attached while stalking. MDT has a video where they shoot off a hog, a bag, and a arca. Check it out. Now when talking about tripods……they are not all equal in stability. What makes a tripod better or worse is the size of the platform the legs attach to. The larger the diameter the more stabile. It’s the reason rrs and fiesol are dominant at prs match’s. The down fall is they become heavy and expensive. I run a fiesol 3342 which for the money and weight is the best I’ve seen but it’s not cheap and still not overly light. It is strong and stabile for the weight tho. I’ve killed yotes as far as 1125 off of it.
