[QUOTE=".300 Dakota, post: 1662126, member: 106514"] So I got in on this deal awhile back. A large-volume Weatherby authorized dealer was trying to move several models of Weatherby Mark V rifles for a few hundred off regular street price. I found a couple RC models hidden in the pile that I thought were pricing errors. They were actually priced BELOW regular, uncertified models. Upon questioning the dealer, I was assured there were no errors. This was a deal among deals! I quickly said, "I'll take 2, please!"There was no sales tax, and they cut me a deal on shipping. I paid $10 to have them transferred and was in business. But what business? I didn't need either of them. I was simply buying them because I'd never see one at that price again. I thought at the very least, I could use them for trade bait for something "cool." Many times over I've offered them for sale at just what I paid. I've reached out to dealers who had "cool" stuff at a price point below the tag they had hanging on the desired item. Nobody was interested. The gun market is so depressed right now, everyone just wants to move inventory. Weatherby is a popular brand, and therefore, in plentiful supply. Everyone blew their "defense budget" for the next 10 years when O'bama was in office. Nobody is in any hurry to buy anything "gun" and are looking for deals even better than what I got. So here I sit with 2 Weatherby Mark V Range Certified Arroyos chambered in .270 Wby and 7mm Wby, respectively, that NO ONE would even consider purchasing at $500 - $600 below street retail, or even trading for. Then is when the notion strikes me. Hey, these are some REALLY sexy rifles! Targets show they are capable of sub-1/2 MOA, and either are capable of killing anything that walks on the continent at distances of 1/2 mile or more. Short bolt throw, silky smooth action, my most favorite safety ever, in a weatherproof beautiful package. So it finally dawns on me to put a scope on these things, load up some ammo, and enjoy the fact I probably have the best rifles in existence at this price point! Any experience or loading advice?
