This particular type of unit uses something considered to be gen2 SHP technology which is considerably sharper than gen2+ and has better battery life also. This stuff really is as close to gen3 one can come w/o dropping the $3200+ on a pvs-14 or MUM.You can mount it behind a riflescope and this one even comes w/ the $200 riflescope adapter. I would, however, recommend use of an IR illuminator as using any monoc behind a riflescope will produce a darker image due to all the lenses inside a day scope.
Comes with rifle adapter, video adapter and unit. Used very little maybe 8 hours
