Officials <a href="http://fwp.mt.gov/news/newsReleases/fishAndWildlife/nr_1108.html" target="_blank">confirmed in a news release</a> Monday that DNA results proved the animal was a gray wolf. </p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>"The lab compared the animal's DNA with thousands of other DNA samples from wolves, coyotes and dogs.
