It's a _ _ _ _ measuring contest really. The game don't know the difference. It's us that has to push our favorite cartridge. Some offer better LR ballistics but in reality, most, even tho this is a LR hunting forum, shoot deer and other large game animals well within any of the above cartridges well within their effective ranges. All of them are very capable of clean effective kills. Not with high BC bullets either. That puts the .270 pretty much at the top of that list powder and effectiveness wise. I don't think there's any disagreement of that. Everyone that knows anything about cartridges and LR bullets for hunting/ target knows which have the best ability at LR/ELR scenarios. The .277 is probably the poorest of all of them with the exception of the Berger 170. Sure would love to see more heavies for the .277. If I was betting on a bullet to show up, my money would be on Hornady to make it. They love their hands in everything and wouldn't surprise me to hear of a 270 CM or 270 PRC. It's Hornady so if they make it, people will come !!!
