I went and bought a Smith-Corona 03A3, its in a real sweet rifle, it is chamberd
for a .308Norma Mag, the bolt face is the same size as the .300 and the 7MM Magnum.
is this action tough enough to build another rifle in 7MM mag?
The last owner dumped a bunch of money into it. I payed under $200 for it.
the barrel is trashed, it was used over seas, and it was never changed.
The stock is worth more than the rifle, its like the winchester feather weight.
Beuler safety williams peep sights. the rest is military.
I forgot, the bolt has been jeweld and the handle is stock.

Real good! This project is gonna be a long one, its a mess. the Reciever has some rust, its about C condition, rust around the top where his hands were and on the bottom.
the stock got some Bleach water, there was some mold on it, after cleaning I put on some linsead oil I used our oven for a dryer..120 degrees for a long time.

the .308 that was in a house fire was given to two reputal gunsmiths and they just shruged there shoulders and said we got lucky..
my brother is using it for coyotes he built a .260 Remington.
