[QUOTE="18whlsrolin, post: 1418704, member: 104384"] I frequently shoot with someone who has a CVA scout V2 45-70 with 25" braked barrel. It shoots 1 1 /2" groups with full house jacketed bullets. Function s great and seems well built. The brake makes a huge difference in recoil. The recoil pad is nice also. If I didn't already have a 1885 high wall I'd buy one of them in a heartbeat. I've heard of the new Henry single shots. They should be great guns and their customer service is great. I just went through a hassle with TC getting new contender carbine repaired. Repair took 2 months but they did fix the problem. I bought a 30-30 23" carbine and primers were pushing out with all different factory loads. Problem was I had another barrel for it in 7 -30 waters that wouldn't allow me to install breach face bushings because it was so tight (less than 1000th gap at breach face). But the 7-30 was pushing primers also. The 7-30s chamber was to deep and some metal around chamber needed to be removed while the 30-30 needed breech face bushings. I let them deal with it. They did pay for everything including shipping so I'm not gripping to much. It's a shooter now with both of the barrels. Good luck with whatever you choose.
