Well what is long range for some people may not be to others. I struggle in that department. I was NOT a sniper in the Army, I was a Designated Marksman. When We found ourselves having to shoot multiple extended distances We would dial our optics to 700 yards. We would use our hash marks to help speed up our rate of fire when need be. We would range multiple sights where We thought Charlie’s might pop up and right the yardage down on our map we drew. We would Wright our hold over/under accordingly for that distance. We could hit our targets anywhere from around 400ish yards out to 1200ish yards without touching our turrets. To me 1500 plus’s is long range. 2000 plus is extreme. 1000 to 1500 is moderate. Inside 1000 is close. I’m not knocking anyone’s abilities. There are people out there that can probably shoot way better than me.
