Hi, Everyone. I'm brand new to the forum, and new to the extreme-range game. I recently developed the hots to get a Savage 110 FCP HS Precision in .338 LM. I have been reading everything I can find on them for a few weeks, and one thing I saw a lot of was that guys were swapping out the factory-suppled scope-mounting rail. I never could really quite catch exactly why, or what problem they had with the factory rail, though. Can anyone tell me if or why the factory rail might need upgrading? If replacing it is advisable, who's product would you suggest? I'm assuming it should be a 20 MOA rail? And also, I believe the receiver is tapped for 8-40 screws instead of 6-48 - can you get a rail with #8 holes, or will they have to be drilled out? Thanks, and sorry for the newb questions.
