74Sharps, Funny you should mention Sako; and yeah, any full-stocked rifle is mesmerizing. It's like they hypnotize you with all the long sleek wood and you don't even realize you just typed your credit card number:D When I began my search for a new lighter kicking rifle, I considered the Winchester 70 Featherweight, since I have one in 270 WSM that is a love story. But I also looked at Weatherby Vanguard, Browning X-Bolt, Howa, Bergara, etc. I had come to the conclusion that I wanted to go all in and was seriously wanting to get a SAKO 85 with a beautiful walnut stock; but very expensive. A pretty exhaustive search. So when I saw that Sauer had a new rifle I was shocked at the price--actually floored to see for the first time in my life a Sauer I could actually buy with a clean conscience. I still think the Sako 85 is gorgeous, but will it shoot dime-sized groups at 200 Yards? Looks like I will never know. And since my Sauer does shoot dime-covered groups at 200 Yards, I'm OK with that😇 I suppose if this new Sauer would only shoot 1" groups, I would look at it and hate it. But ever since I got a couple of 0.212 MOA groups @200 Yards, that Beechwood has taken on a special glow in my eyes. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I think a large part of the beauty is in the smallness of the groups😏
