I have three Ruger Tang safety M77s in McMillan stocks. Two are the discontinued ultralight stocks. The third is the Hunter as featured on their website: https://www.mcmillanusa.com/mcmillan-rifle-stocks/hunting-stocks-ruger-mark-ii-hunter/ I am pretty certain they can inlet the hunter stock as well as the other Ruger mark II offerings for the tang safety even though they don't show it. I would call them. 877-365-6148 At least 7 yrs ago I got lucky and found my second ultralight stock through the owner of 24 hr campfire. Maybe if you do an extensive search you might find one. Heck I'd ask McMillan if they happen to have one kicking around. You never know. ------------------ John Barsness, the gunwriter said in a post from 2011: I had Charlie Sisk build me a custom .300 Winchester Magnum on a tang-safety 77 action a few years ago. Eventually I sold it because my magazine editors got tired of hearing about it.
