Rifle mounted camera

looking for 1st hand experience on recommendations for a camera mounted camera. The primary use would be for hunting trips with viewing animals at longer range distances, say 500 yards.

So, you don't want a scope cam, observing quarry through your scope? (That's what I have.)

A camera that has a lens that gives you large enough footage of quarry at 500y is going to be rather heavy — why not use the lens you already have mounted on your rifle.... — the scope?
