[QUOTE="shortgrass, post: 960028, member: 24284"] Don't even try to get 'fancy' if you'll be shooting factory loads. I'm currently "tusslin'" with one I built to minimum head space dimentions (GO gauge + a .002" steel shim and the bolt won't close). It'll except my handloads built using new Nosler brass, but won't except every factory loaded round I try. Some will chamber, some won't even come close to chambering. These factory rds. were manufactured by Remington & Winchester, and are of current manufacture. The chamber won't except full length re-sized brass fired in another rifle. No surprize there. There's just too much variation in the size of factory produced ammo to expect a tight, but in spec chamber, to except any and all of it. My solution to my problem, as my customer isn't a reloader,,,,,, increase head space toward the middle of the tolerance...... Not an 'ideal' situation, IMO.
