May 26, 2023 - Recap of the URSA NorCal May '23 event (by RD, Lynn Dragoman; build info from Oscar) Shooters - We had multiple new 375 CheyTac builds on the line for this match and WhiteMamba, Mitch, and Brian were all in contention for the match. After the 2147-yard dust had settled it was WhiteMamba and Mitch advancing to 2630 yards with WhiteMamba taking the win with 4 hits. In the second match our own wnick308 got 5 hits in 10 shots with his Savage 112 338LM to take the win and earn his first achievement point. Amanda, shooting RickyRacer87's (Doug''s) rifle was Runner-up. Way to go Amanda!!! Congrats to WhiteMamba and Wnick308 on your wins. Always bring at least 75 rounds of ammo as we always shoot for several hours after the matches. Amanda picked up the 338LM rifle that she won in last month's raffle, so RickyRacer87 will now be reloading ammo for two. Next month's match will be the 4th Sunday of the month (June 25th) due to a college graduation ceremony I need to attend. Then we close down for the archery and rifle deer seasons, starting shooting again in October. See you at the next match. First match Winner, Jayson, declined to have his build data published. First match Runner-up, Mitch, was shooting 400 gr. Cutting Edge Lazers out of his Billy Goat Machine-built .375 CT with BAT CT action, 36" Bartlein barrel, Manners LRT (long range tactical) stock, Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR MOA scope on the BAT integral 30 MOA rail and Ivey mount/rings. Second match Winner, Nick, was shooting Hornady 285 gr. ELD-Matches out of his Billy Goat Machine-built .338 LM Savage 112 with 32" Krieger barrel, McRee Precision chassis, and Nightforce 5-25x56 ATACR SFP scope on a Ken Ferrell 40 MOA base with Nightforce X-Treme Duty Ultralight rings. Second match Runner-up, Amanda, was shooting 300 gr Berger OTMs out of Doug's Billy Goat Machine-built 33XC with BGM Ovis (Defiance Deviant Tactical) action, 31" Lothar Walther bull barrel, Manners T-5A stock, and Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR scope on an ERATAC 0-70 MOA base and rings.
