I should have done this earlier. I own a K&M arbor press with a force attachment. This is a four ring steel bellows (similar to a smoke puffer), that compresses during bullet seating. A dial indicator is used for read out to the thousandths. Wilson seater die was used. The cases were Lapua, 6mBR sized with a Redding Competition sizer and .264 bushing. I used Hornady 105 gr. A Max bullets. Necks were cleaned inside initially. COAL 2.250, necks turned to .0126 for my chamber. Five cases were sized, bullets pulled in a Forester puller, then immediately re-seated without again sizing. I was surprised by the results: Seating Pressure after sizing Pressure seating without re-sizing #1 41 41 #2 41 22* #3 40 40 #4 40 40 #5 41 41 I cannot explain the great difference in #2, and I would dismiss it as an anomoly. The other four were unchanged so that it does appear the required force to seat bullets does not matter whether re-sized or not. I would have thought otherwise. End of discussion. Gene
