Yup, you are one lucky man to have the dad that you do. I understand a lot of what you are going through because I lived most of my life with my dad, grandmother and grandfather. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer and my grandmother (pretty much my mom) is dieing of colon cancer. My dad thankfully does not have any cancer that we know of at this point. My dad would have gotten along with yours I do believe. My dad was in the 3rd Battalion Force Recon in Vietnam. To this day, I don't know what he did over there. I have only seen the medals that are shoved in a little metal box in a closet. He won't ever talk about it. The only people that he has ever talked about it with are his buddies that survived with him while he was there (and there are not many left). I think this thread has turned into a lot of people caring about what you and your family is going through. I also think that it gives a lot of hope for this country with the people on here that believe in God and what he is about. So, I agree it is a very deep and moving thread. Cheers to your dad for fighting the good fight and hope he continues to do so.
