Going to shoot the 6mm AI today & work on load development. Starting load workup. I plan to load 200 rounds after verifying a good load - looking for accuracy & low spread uniformity. The 87 VMax is the only bullet I use in my 10 twist 6mm AI. I have some 6mm 87 Berger VLD bullets & I might try these out on 1,000-yard steel. The 87 Vmax's at just under 3,500 should give flat trajectories & quick expansion. An 8 twist 6mm-06 blew these up at somewhat higher velocity - gray smoke, no bullet hole. I also want to reduce ricochet possibility with the thin jacket, plastic pointy 87 Vmax's. 50.0 - 50.5 grains of VN 165, almost 100% fill, COW fireformed 6mm PPU brass & Fiocchi LRP's. Necks turned to .268. No expander button used. The scope is a 5-25X50 Burris HD. I plan to check out. How good will reticle aimed shots be?
