That happened at least 5 years ago, probably longer. The story stuck with me for a lot of reasons. I sometimes hunt with my 7mm Rem Mag and I know what it does when it hits. Hearing him talk about how it felt to be shot with one still bothers me. I think people that "start off living" in the country are fine with people they know but when a pack of people that you don't know show up and start building houses or buying property we tend to wonder about the "way they think". Change is never comfortable but less so today. My son was an electrician on an AC130H. He was stationed at Hurlburt. I got a tour of a U model (I think, it's been a while) and it's an impressive aircraft. I was surprised at how familiar the cockpit was (except for the 4 each of the prop, mixture, and power levers, C172's don't have that lol). Oh, there was also the big red knob for firing the big gun. The door from them cockpit back had "You can run but you'll only die tired" above it :)
